Is my smart phone able to function as a web cam, to enable me to take a proctored exam?

Answer

If you don't have a webcam on your computer, and you need one for services like Automated Proctoring, you are able to use a smartphone as a webcam by connecting either through WiFi or a USB cable (typically included with phone purchases).

Here is a link to detailed information on how to accomplish this with Android-based smartphones: https://www.digitalcitizen.life/turn-android-smartphone-webcam-windows.

Here is a link that outlines an iPhone-based version: https://www.macworld.com/article/3535196/how-to-use-your-iphone-as-a-webcam-for-video-conferencing-and-virtual-meetings.html

Please note that if there is someone else in your household who borrowed equipment from DCPS (Duval County Public Schools), this DCPS equipment might suit the technology requirements of Automated Proctoring and possibly could be used by an FSCJ student for testing purposes.
